En lugar de centralizar millones de datos en un \u00fanico servidor, este paradigma permite que los modelos aprendan directamente desde los dispositivos donde se generan los datos, preservando la privacidad y reduciendo los riesgos asociados a su transferencia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El viejo manual de la Inteligencia Artificial dictaba una regla inquebrantable: para entrenar un modelo potente, necesitabamos centralizar monta\u00f1as de datos y durante d\u00e9cadas, la IA sigui\u00f3 el est\u00e1ndar: <strong>recolectar datos \u2192 enviarlos a un servidor central \u2192 entrenar un modelo \u2192 devolver resultados. <\/strong><em>\u00bfEl problema?:<\/em> la latencia, los costos astron\u00f3micos de transferencia y las pesadillas estrat\u00e9gicas de <em>compliance<\/em> (hola, GDPR) y, en un mundo donde los datos representan uno de los activos m\u00e1s importantes de nuestra era, aparece una pregunta fundamental: <strong>\u00bfrealmente necesitamos mover nuestros datos para crear inteligencia?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La respuesta lleg\u00f3 con una nueva arquitectura de aprendizaje autom\u00e1tico, <strong>Federated Learning (Aprendizaje Federado)<\/strong> el superpoder t\u00e9cnico donde el rendimiento algor\u00edtmico y la privacidad de los datos por fin hacen un <em>match<\/em> perfecto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-que-es-el-federated-learning\"><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 es el Federated Learning?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>En lugar de llevar los datos de los usuarios a un servidor central (con todos los riesgos de fuga que eso implica), <strong>llevamos el modelo a los datos<\/strong>. El <strong>(FL)<\/strong> es el paradigma de Machine Learning donde m\u00faltiples dispositivos o nodos colaboran para entrenar un modelo de inteligencia artificial sin compartir sus datos originales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Es una arquitectura descentralizada donde la IA se entrena localmente en los dispositivos del <em>edge<\/em> (tu smartphone, un servidor de hospital o un veh\u00edculo aut\u00f3nomo). La secuencia exacta es vital para garantizar que el modelo aprenda sin espiar, y normalmente tiene cuatro componentes principales:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-1-distribucion-del-modelo-global-federated-server\"><strong><em>1. Extracci\u00f3n y cifrado de pesos (modelo&nbsp;global)<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Aislando el conocimiento, aqu\u00ed los dispositivos no devuelven datos, sino un resumen de lo que aprendieron: los gradientes o pesos ajustados del modelo. Para blindar esto, se aplican capas criptogr\u00e1ficas como: <strong>secure aggregation<\/strong> o <strong>differential privacy<\/strong>, a\u00f1adiendo <em>\u201cruido\u201d<\/em> para que sea imposible realizar ingenier\u00eda inversa y descubrir un dato individual. Es decir, es la inteligencia colectiva creada por todos los participantes y cada ronda de entrenamiento mejora el conocimiento general del modelo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-4-agregacion-central-algoritmo-de-agregacion-fedavg\"><strong><em>4. Agregaci\u00f3n central (algoritmo de agregaci\u00f3n\u200a\u2014\u200aFedAvg)<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>El cerebro colectivo. El servidor central recibe estos miles de gradientes cifrados y los promedia y el resultado es un nuevo modelo global m\u00e1s inteligente, actualizado sin haber visto jam\u00e1s un solo dato personal, hasta que el ciclo vuelve a empezar. Aqu\u00ed ocurre la magia matem\u00e1tica y el algoritmo m\u00e1s famoso es:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>FedAvg (Federated Averaging)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Propuesto por Google en 2017.
